CFC ALABAMA, MISSISSIPPI and TENNESSEE: all fired up to make a difference!

Birmingham, Alabama January 2010 : What a better way to start 2010 than a gathering of leaders in CFC Southeast Region B states of Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee. On January 23, 2010, CFC state leaders, household leaders including coordinators of different Couples for Christ ministries assembled at the Our Lady of Sorrows in Birmingham, Alabama for a whole-day planning workshop. The purpose of the event is to disseminate the evangelization goals/framework set by CFC national leaders for this year and to establish regional plans for achieving these goals.

The gathering of servant leaders was graced with the attendance of Bro. Eric
Villanueva, national director of CFC-US and Bro. Glen Santayana, Southeast Region B leader/national council member who took time out from their busy schedules to support Southeast Region B in establishing plans for their respective states for 2010.

The workshop was aptly kicked off with a talk by Bro. Eric updating the participants on CFC’s “state of the mission” and other on-going activities of CFC-US.  Setting the tone for the afternoon planning sessions, Bro. Glen and Bro. Buddy Campos of CFC Tennessee delivered motivational talks on evangelization reminding the participants on the core mission and vision of CFC.  Filled with the Spirit, the servant leaders spent most of the afternoon laying out plans and strategies for the year. Guided by this year’s theme “Fullness of Life in Christ”, the leaders came up with an aggressive plan not only aimed at increasing CFC’s footprint in Southeast Region B but also geared at sustaining the already energized members of the region.

Among the plans set for this year, the leaders of Southeast Region B have agreed to : (1) increase its membership by conducting more CLPs and other CFC formation programs; (2) be more pro-active in supporting the Catholic Church’s pro-life advocacy; (3) be more responsive to the needs of our less fortunate brethrens in the Philippines through ANCOP; and (4) strengthen CFC both at the organizational and household levels.

The assembly was concluded with the presentation of new Southeast Region B leaders and a mini praisefest led by Bro. Glen. Kudos to Bro. Dwight Cao’s team in CFC Alabama for a job well done in taking care of the logistical needs of the event notably the mouth-watering food prepared by the region’s pool of culinary experts.

Judging from the plans and enthusiasm of the participants, you bet Southeast Region B is fired up and ready to make a difference in 2010!
