The passion. The fire. The inspiration. The power.
These were all there in the three days of the first-ever Couples For Christ International Missions Summit held in Bethesda, Maryland.
The place where history prevails, America moved, minds were united, eyes were opened anew, ears heard resounding calls, mouths echoed affirming responses, and hearts were set ablaze, hands and arms reached out to one another, where feet and legs were strengthened to walk miles and barriers!
From the Saturday night opening till Monday noon, about 80 or so brethren of different birthplaces, ages, colors, races, and languages gathered together for a worldwide family reunion, all re-committing to one global vision and mission, one world of God!
Thoughts were exchanged amongst each other to create the firm foundation of a standard but unifying mission where everyone were given the opportunity to become a modern-day apostle of Christ proclaiming His word and His love to the ends of the earth. Hearts were moved and consumed with passion as we all stayed glued to the edge of our seats as we listened to intense life sharings of inspiring brothers and sisters from all over. In attendance, servant leaders from far away bejeweled Trinidad & Tobago, Belize, to the transient sand dunes of New Zealand and American Samoa, decaying beauty of the Netherlands to the stagnant marvels of Singapore, from the cold depths of Canada to the unknown rainforests of Zimbabwe, anxious concretes of America, to the thirsty oases of Dubai.
But in the end, love overflowed, tears outpoured. Voices lifted up shouting, magnifying, praising and honoring, in majestic awe but in peaceful oneness in His presence. These are leaders who allowed their lives to be led by the true power of God, humbly surrendering their all and offering nothing other than their faithful service. There were no names nor personalities that prevailed, rather, only Christ imaging Himself in everyone as He whispers His challenge to all of us :
Go and make disciples of all men to all the ends of the earth, and I shall be with you wherever I lead you.
