CFC THEME 2010

Fullness of Life in Christ. "Since you have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord, live in union with Him.  Keep your roots deep in Him, build your lives on Him, and become stronger in your faith as you were taught.  And be filled with thanksgiving."  - Colossians 2:6-7

Our National CFC Youth Core Group

Dear brothers and sisters,

After prayers and discernment and consultations with our leaders, full-time workers and servants in the youth ministry, and on behalf of the CFC National Council, we are pleased to announce the anointing of the following members of the CFC Youth National Core Group.

Overflowing love may fall upon you this Easter!

EASTER MESSAGE FROM OUR NATIONAL DIRECTOR

Dear Brethren,

Overflowing love may fall upon you this Easter!

We have just concluded the first quarter of the year and with it comes a brand new beginning - a new opportunity to experience the fullness of life in Christ (as our theme for this year goes). Not only this is a great time to look back at how we have lived the past three months with hope and acceptance, but this blessing of Easter comes perfect for remembering things, like God's power in creation and how He has been at work in history from the very beginning. He has not changed nor faltered! Jesus, indeed, kept His word by conquering sin and death.

Walking & fighting for life, rain or shine!

San Francisco, California - 23 January 2010 : It was a cold, dreary, rainy Saturday morning - the kind that invites you to stay in bed and sleep in, yet I was fully awake by 6:30am and out of the house an hour later, to join what has now become a yearly tradition for me - the Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco. The stormy weather the past week has threatened to dissuade the prolifers from the walk, but as the tens of thousands at the Justin Herman Plaza proved, no rain can deter God's people from expressing their faith and standing up for Life! If anything, I think it has fueled our resolve to show the world that the Prolife movement is not passé. It was amazing!

CFC WORK WITH THE POOR GETS SUPPORT FROM ANCOP USA AND CANADA

January 27, 2010, Couples for Christ, ANCOP Canada and ANCOP USA signed a Memorandum of Agreement in a bid to formalize and concretize ANCOP’s support for CFC’s work with the poor.

The MOA was signed by members of the CFC International Council and the top officials of ANCOP, namely:  Temy Pangilinan, President of ANCOP Canada; Nick Borja, CFC National Director for Canada; and Ricky Cuenca, Chairman of both ANCOP Canada and ANCOP USA.

The MOA is a significant breakthrough in CFC’s expanded and more wholistic work with the poor.  Under the MOA, the partnership covers the building of homes for the poor and the implementation of programs on education, health and livelihood.
Ricky Cuenca hailed the partnership, calling it a “milestone.”  He further said that “this is clear affirmation that the Lord is guiding and directing the CFC community towards this new phase of our work with the poor.”

DOES GOD CARE WHAT YOU WEAR TO CHURCH?

Summer activities and vacations can make getting to Mass each week seem like a juggling act. Harder still is finding the time to dress properly and prepare as we would like. But approaching all aspects of the Eucharist carefully can deepen our Communion with Christ. What we wear can help.

Make it feel special. If you were invited to a friend's house for an evening, you would wear something nice to honor your friend. Sunday Mass is a special time for you and God. Wearing good clothes makes it feel special.

Send a message. Mass is also a communal celebration. When you look nice in church, you send the message to your Catholic brothers and sisters that you value your time together in God's house.

Use this guideline. When deciding what to wear to church, think about this : If it is something you would wear to a picnic, to play a sport, or to clean out the garage, don't wear it to church - even during the summer.
